Discover Sicily through its cooking. Get hands-on with local dishes and share the ingredients, techniques and recipes that bring our traditions to life.

What we’ll do together

Take an active part in preparing traditional local dishes. Discover local ingredients, learn each step of a recipe and enjoy cooking together. Dishes include fresh pasta and sauce, aubergine caponata, almond pastries, ricotta cannoli and arancine.

The cooking class with Daniela at Baglio Cappello lasts 3½ hours and costs €110. You can also choose walking and tasting (€30), or a homecooked lunch or early dinner (€70).

Archaeology, villages, salt pans and the sea. Explore the province of Trapani and the rest of Sicily from Castellammare del Golfo, with itineraries for individuals and groups.

Daniela, a gastronome with a love of food, welcomes you to Baglio Cappello to share family recipes, local produce and the pleasure of gathering around the table.

Join Daniela in the kitchen and make a traditional recipe from scratch. Choose one of these dishes:

  • Fresh pasta and sauce
  • Aubergine caponata
  • Almond pastries
  • Cannoli with fresh ricotta
  • Arancine (Sicilian rice balls)

The experience includes a visit to the historic residence, an aperitif on the terrace and lunch featuring what you have cooked, plus dessert and wine.

Walk through the olive grove and discover the area through one of its most treasured products.

Then taste organic “Cappello” extra virgin olive oil, served with fresh local bread.

Discover local wineries, vineyards and the work of their producers, with tastings of Sicilian wines. On request, the day can include lunch with local specialities such as caponata, pane cunzatu, cheeses and ricotta desserts. Wineries and the programme are agreed when you enquire.
